Mama

A little over a month ago my kids and I were in Hawai'i to bid farewell to my mom.  Although I miss her by tons, it feels like in a little while, we will meet again in Heaven.  She has been everything to me..and it's just weird not to be able to pick up the phone and hear her voice...

Missionary shoes

I'm taking boots, athletic shoes and I've needed some feminine shoes...

It's been a few months since I posted, after being faithful for such a long time.  There is NEWS!  I received a mission call to the Missouri Independence Mission on Saturday, October 6 and I'm to report to the MTC in Provo, Utah on Monday, October 29.  Not much time!!

Mystery Horse

She is a mystery horse and sometimes reminds me of myself..curly hair, moods and attitudes.  I've wanted a great picture of her for some months now, and that has eluded me until one day when it began to drizzle.  I love standing in the rain and getting wet, and that's what I did--and so did she!

Koanui--Hawaiian Warrior

Yes, I'm a little busy!  Getting ready for wood fire, getting ready to move, getting ready for a mission and working the 40 hour week--UGH!!  Today I'm working on ears and shoulders..not shown here, yet!

Bump, Set, Spike!!

You may or may not know that I ran track for a couple of years in high school, and although that seems my only athletic claim to fame, over the years I participated in gymnastics, basketball, softball and of all things the rifle team!  These days as an old lady who can walk 10,000 I merely reminisce about former athletic prowess.  Volleyball has been my passion, with tennis ranking second place.  I'm afraid I am a participator and don't like spectating. I tried officiating for a few seasons but that was just admitting I was done, as a player.  I have played volleyball since I was 12, but not truly competitively till I was in my 20's and discovered pick up games at the park, open gym time and league play.  I still play on Friday mornings with a bunch of young-ins.  This year marks my 50th in game play!! My kids were raised in Nalo Country playing outside the small one court gym at church.  Most have been hit by an errant volleyball while playing on sidelines or running across the court for mommy or daddy.  Some of my kids married people who play volleyball, and some have adopted the sport because of marrying and gaining the passion for the game with our family. My grandkids are in volleyball camp and my daughter coaches in a select league and is currently in Oregon at a tournament.

Noe needed shots of the girls for a Mother's Day project and I took the camera and attempted to take action shots.  Then I plowed through 500 pics and looked for good examples of individual girls.  These are some of the photos!  I wish I was young and sassy enough to fly like these gals.  The doctor says that if I keep playing--my knees will go soon..this week I have been sad at the thought of hanging up my volleyball shoes..well, I figure maybe new  replacements can be trained to soar again???

The New Place

Wow!!.  I haven't blogged in a few weeks and some things have changed in blogger--how cool, even with a sad and slow, old computer!  I am not an avid photoshopper so I left the sani-kan in the foreground!

This is the new place..we're probably about 4 weeks or so from completion, hooking up sinks and toilets, painting trim, hooking up to the sewer, painting the outside, finishing the stairs inside and out--cross your fingers and pray for us!!  There is probably an after party..yay for summer!!  We would be the exhausted hosts!!

She's back!!

It's been months and months and I've not been motivated to SHOOT except for some stuff with my little point and shoot camera.  As soon as I got the Canon from the repair place I climbed into my car, affixed the lens and put in a battery.  A Porsche was parked across the street, and an apartment building with red fire escape stairs..she works like a charm.  What was wrong?  I sent it in cuz it wouldn't turn on.  When I got it back with a 90 day warranty the shutter didn't work.  I took it back and yesterday I found out they hadda remove the guts of the camera, order a part and put it all back together to factory standards..glad it was on warranty because I would need a new one..at $2000 but I would want to upgrade to the model that costs closer to $3000--and of course, no money tree is growing in my yard!
