I inherited DRIVE from my parents. I have learned laughing out loud, loving completely and appreciating a motorcycle ride. From my family I learn unconditional love. Now I learn to carry on. Of little sleep, I feel the need to fill each day with accomplishment. I have a zest for life and a curiosity to know about anything and everything!

Valentine/Gung hee fah choy
It's gonna be a 2 week long celebration! I was going through stuff AGAIN and I'm down a size so I got 2 bags for Goodwill/DI. Out with the oversized old t-shirts and a few pairs of jeans that are large....and I still have 6 pairs that I can put to good use (motorcycle riding, painting, light construction and yard work)! I looked around and found this skirt, a pair of Dockers and a pair Levi 505 jeans in super condition all for $11!! When I'm down another size maybe I'll start to take pictures of ME inside the clothes!! My workouts are spotty and occur about 3 times a week as I work towards 5 or 6 days of some kind of physical exercise (volleyball twice, does that count?). We watch shows on the laptop in the garage while on the elliptical, and I walk the neighborhood loop with the loop getting larger and including hills (ugh!!)--it's okay and I did that core class on Wednesday (hurt for 2 days afterwards!).
At the beginning of the week we did valentine cookies and decorated with royal icing and sugar crystal sprinkles. I may need to do one more batch to give to friends. Today we cook Chinese and in the coming week I have two lunch dates and a movie. There's a bunch of just us gals who like getting together once in awhile. I've agreed with one friend that we will be active friends..not always going out to eat unless it is sensible! Project goals include painting, finishing the duvet cover and take pics of the new digs..my room! Yesterday I helped Brandon get kids to dance and basketball (Noe coached a v-ball tournament), cleaned up the shop table, got rid of odds and ends and then headed to Nix and Jenny's where she and I painted ONE, SINGLE doorjamb and trim...it took a few hours...YIKES those are time consuming!!
Reading with the book club is a great activity and I've been combing Half.com and Amazon besides the second hand stores...at Amazon I find books for a few cents...with shipping at a couple of dollars!! I ordered MOLOKA'I, James Michener's HAWAII, SHARK CHRONICLES and found a new book HONOLULU. I covet the Pele/Hiiaka books but they are pipiiwale no (expensive, full price!). I read when I can't sleep..read 3 books last week! I'm still getting my 8 hours, though--didn't craft, sew or paint!
I'm glad the rain has stopped..seemed like it poured down for days and days!!

Happy Valentine's Day
I celebrated by making saimin...complete with spam strips, pink kamaboko and egg and then I had a small banana royale..a movie will complete my Valentine celebration. Earlier in the week I rolled out cutout and baked some sugar cookies and decorated them with royal icing and clear sugar sprinkles..they turned out gorgeous. I feel it's important to celebrate!

amazing day
I didn't set out to have a ME day..went to the chiropractor office for a massage and had on my list to buy some socks...simple enough! It was early for most stores so I ended up at Target, near my hair place and the gal who cuts my hair was in, with time in 45 minutes. I went to Target for the socks and came out with a tad more than that..Valentine's Day, you understand! Mary had a small heart attack a few weeks ago and today was her last day doing hair at Third Dimension. I really like her and think I'll follow her to her next place. She's taking a couple of weeks break. We have really great talks when she does my hair and today she told me about her "partner". It was really quite sweet and touching. Well, I decided to get some stuff for curly hair, and then phoned up a friend to confirm lunch for today...hmmmm...
Lunch was up at Camp Union so I went up there to meet with her. Her bunch were nice people. One lady is an author and we hit it off right away so I believe I will receive her first book to read and I traded her for the one our club is reading. In the springtime her new book will be released and I want her to be a guest author at one of our meetings in the springtime.
The woman to the right of me makes wind chimes with old silver utensils and glass beads. She is a tall and leggy woman who lost her husband a couple of years ago. Too bad I don't want a Goldwing, because she's trying to part with one! She had on the most fabulous pair of suede high heels! We laughed so hard to think we're all in our 50's talking about this woman being "HOT"!
Another gal was telling of her greenhouse and since she lives nearby we went to see her little greenhouse...she didn't say it was on 40 acres with Olympic Mountain views, a huge mancave 3 car 2-story building AND a large home! We stayed quite long since several of us were interested in landscaping, gardening and plants. The oranges on the tree in the greenhouse were larger than what we see in the grocery store!
I feel inspired...but tired! It was a 3 hour lunch!

Lost and then found..
Awhile back I lost a bunch of stuff...and found them last night..I'm so glad! But this means that I've gotta back myself up; get an external hard drive and put the photos in a safe place.
My OTHER Family
I miss them, and especially the 3 that have gone to live with God..must be good fun with them all there!
Wheels
2 more weeks of healing inflammation from surgery! Today feels like a "leaf" kind of a day; you know, the day you feel like turning over a new leaf. I was up late night cleaning computer files. I feel ready to begin a workout, clean out the car and get the oil change going. I don't hear the pitter patter of rain on the roof and I feel like getting my boots on and taking the bike out. There's always so much to do. I'm thinking that to complete a single something today would be awesome.
During the past Christmas season I was walking by a toy shelf and a little box seemed to be calling my name. At first I thought maybe these bikes are for a grandchild and as I wrapped up the various and sundry gifts I decided these should be mine. I'm supposed to indulge myself once in awhile, right? The other thing is that they represent a goal of mine, and looking at these everyday will help me until I achieve that goal! The bikes are from left to right: Ducati, Ducati, Ducati, Suzuki.

Nissy-Wissy
She turned 14 this week (UGH, she'll be driving in the summer of 2011!!). At Christmastime she started wearing makeup and does a good job at not looking overdone or racconish! Yesterday we went to Mary at Third Dimension near Target in Silverdale, and this is the result. I like it, it's so HER! I like that she's taller than me and maybe she'll do all the stuff I never got to do in my lifetime! She had a picture of what she wanted so that was a good thing! Mary says she looks like a ROCK STAR!! She's a good student, and can usually be found with her head in a book, or texting her friends on her new red cellphone!! We are planning on a trip that didn't happen for her last year....SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!
