Transition to winter

Outside my window the laceleaf maple is shedding all of its leaves. In the morning when I wake up and look up I see these glass beads glued onto the limbs--taking the place of the leaves!

I shot my first wedding!!

About a thousand photos later, I decided I could really DO this! But my camera died just before the wedding..and I was smart enough to bring along a friend with an extra camera..we had fun and the pics are awesome!! Very CANDID, not very formal!

My latest pots

My latest pots just out of the kiln last week are glazed in a mystery red and gold shino. The spouted container is a teapot with tea bowls minus installing the bamboo handle. It's all GOOD!

Savory but sweet!

I was at Gloria's place and Don had purchased a loin roast from Costco and along with Bob, the 4 of us were discussing how to prepare this; I asked for cuts at one and a half inches so I could slit the loin steak and stuff it..the ideas raced around in my head for awhile and I settled on this..apricot/walnut fried rice with bean sprouts seasoned with oyster, soy and Thai chili sauces. I seared the 2 sides in a frying pan then transferred the loin to the oven. I basted it with a glaze of the sauces and reserved some sauce for drizzling over the loin when plating it up. Maybe I watch too much Top Chef and Hell's Kitchen!! This was very delectable.

We fall back an hour tonight...

It's further along than this, but it's the last photo I have..the siding is nearly all installed, as are the windows and doors. The weather has cooperated and we just need a couple of non-rain days to get the outside near DONE
